Reality; Really?

24 Aug

Reality; Really?

Ok, so this post has very little to do with a home based internet marketers tips. BUT the seeds to a successful mind set may be found here.

Ever said something that was misunderstood- it was seen as something totally different to what you meant?

Have you ever been surprised by how your friend, sibling or colleague described something as totally different to the way you saw it? Was your experience of an event, different to your friend, even though you did it together?

Did you ever get to thinking what reality was?

Reality defined by the Oxford dictionary, “All that is real, the real world as distinct from imagination or fantasy. Something that exists or that is real”.

Well that definition may mean something totally different to each one of us…

It may not be black nor white; it could be grey!

This world is made up of billions of people, each with individual minds. Each living within their own little world, all with unique thoughts, beliefs, memories:

Programmed through circumstances, situations and what was fed into that mind.

What contributes to that persons idea of how they perceive their world in which they live?

As a Person Thinketh- so they are… So what affects our world, that in turn effects our reality. It’s all in the brain, our mind…Each one of us lives in our own fuzzy place. Each one of us tries to make sense of what’s around or happens to us.

Many things can affect this.

  • What is said,
  • what we see,
  • feel,
  • smell,
  • taste.

What emotional state we’re in; what chemicals, drugs, alcohol, in our bodies, how much sleep we had, even to what we believe.

Our beliefs influence our views of reality.

What do we believe? Well that depends on who you are?

You are made up from an inherited genetic blue print, brought up and influenced by your own unique circumstance. Each child in every family experience things differently, to that of your peers.

Each has different memories, different views around that family cluster. The eldest would be treated different to the middle child or youngest and visa versa. Each child’s view point will be unique to them and their position within that family. Even within one family, one child’s view point will differ from the next.

Each reality changes depending on input, experience, thoughts and beliefs.

We’re not very good mind readers. Our senses try to pick up what’s said through sound and gestures which can be miss interpreted. Certain experiences will be internalized differently depending on our mood, beliefs and state of mind. We all know how our state of mind can change from one moment to the next?

These states of mind can change our perceptions of reality!!!

It’s that state of mind (which could be emotionally charged) that determines how we perceive that moment to be, to become our memory; part of our past. As we build up our store of memories (perceived), this could include what is told to us, pictures we see (tiny fractions of time, which could have been different before and after that shot), advertising (persuasion that affects how we think and feel) are some examples; so we create our own set of beliefs.

Belief and Reality is Fluid…

We can choose to change our thoughts.

It’s our choice…

It’s a decision we need to take. We can decide what we listen to, what company we keep that influences us and how we are going to view that half filled glass of water…

If you view the glass as half full, so your world, your reality becomes one filled with potential, there’s optimism, even abundance. Every thing becomes possible. That attitude becomes conducive to seeing possibilities, to taking action and then to succeed, enabling a better life.

Viewed from Tomorrow- Today would be yesterday!

The moment is now; Find your success today;  not in the future nor the past…

Enjoy each of the blessings that you have, life, each breath, family, friends + health.

The story of the master marketer… who was homeless

10 Jun
If you were homeless and begging for money… and needed to
increase “conversions” over 100% in only a few days… how would
you do it?

Let’s see how this guy did…

Keith began as a “regular” homeless guy asking for money.

He’d sit on a bench with a cup between his feet and cardboard sign
next to him.

It was your standard homeless sign – showing his name, listed the
medical bills he faced (very sad story)… and didn’t pull many
donations.

So eventually he got creative… and the experiments began.

Secrets to marketing using Facebook ads

First, his initial position for the cup was weak. No one wants to
reach between a stranger’s legs to give money.

Homeless Marketing Experiment 1: make the “goal” more accessible.

He held the cup up and out so folks could easily drop coins in as
they passed by.

Not every test needs to involve dramatic change. Sometimes even the
smallest tweaks make huge differences…

… which was NOT the case here.

Holding the cup out produced no change in conversion.

Next test. Time to get more dramatic. Time to swing for the fences.

Homeless Marketing Experiment 2: change your copy and offer.

Time to change the sign… for something a little more… flashy. A
little more prospect-oriented.

First he bought 3 things: a stiff white board. Hand sanitizer. A
red cup.

Then he wrote on the board:

FREE SANITIZER

Help The Homeless

Donate

Next to the word “donate” he drew an arrow pointing to the bright,
easy to see red cup taped to the board.

Next to it he taped on the sanitizer. Anyone who donated could get
a free squirt.

Now we have a compelling offer. This isn’t your standard homeless
guy with the usual cardboard sign begging for money.

This is new age. This sign has an offer! He’s not asking you…
he’s OFFERING you a service in exchange for a little dough.

Classic marketing.

The effects were dramatic. This poor guy… who used to struggle
for acknowledgement… drew a crowd VERY quickly. And hark! People
actually TALKED to him to hear his story.

Everyone wondered… is this guy a genius? He must truly be sober,
trying to help his family… so why not hand over a few coins?

He stood out from his competition. He wasn’t begging for money.
This was an ethical bribe. He had a clear, benefit-focused
headline… and a VERY clear call to action.

While his competitors zigged, he zagged. And he got the crowd.

All he needed to do was get hip to writing copy…Free Viral Maketing E-Book

Your Internet Website Traffic- Business Blogs Traffic!!!

Talking about your business’s life blood here, the main ingredient to your online business success:

Traffic“!

Yes! you get two types of internet website traffic- traffic and then you get Traffic

Getting traffic to your website

The one is cold traffic coming from placed ads on Paid Per Click, Paid Per View, Ads swops, Banner Ads, Free Classifieds etc. These are people responding to the message that you happen to put out.

The second is: Warm traffic. This kind of traffic’s generated from your published articles, blog posts, comments that you post on your niches forums, other blogs, Twitter, Social Networks etc. These comments include a back link to your promotion.

How you get your website traffic, where and what website page you send it to can have a huge impact on your results and/ or conversions. I’m still learning all this the hard way… Which traffic have I found to be the best?
